Hello everyone! We hope you all had a happy and safe holiday season
January is National Stalking Awareness month, so of course, this is the front page story. of our first newsletter of 2014! Stalking is a difficult issue to discuss because many people think it is not a serious crime; these people are wrong. Stalking causes fear and emotional harm to victims just as much as domestic violence. It's time we start recognizing stalking for the crime that it is! Check out our article for more specific info about stalking and as always, if you need help or have questions, don't hesitate to contact our office at 283-2415.
We also included a calendar of what will be going on at our agency for this upcoming year. 2014 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for us here at CCFV and hopefully you can be a part of it! We are always looking for dedicated volunteers, whether you have a lot or just a little time to spare, your efforts are always appreciated!
Some upcoming events to be aware of/excited about:
- In March we will be starting a financial strategies class for teens in Crook County. If you or someone you know could benefit from taking this class, contact Tracy at our office! The class will be free and registration will begin in February.
- On April 26th there will be a women's self defense class sponsored by EWC Extension office in Sundance. For more info about this class, call our office or Brittany at the Extension office, 290-2770.
